Clavel has already competed this year, losing to Yesica Nery Plata in their bout in January. Clavel was challenging for her opponent’s WBA and WBC light flyweight championships at the time of the fight. In her most recent bout, which took place in October of the previous year in the United States, Reyes was defeated by Gabriela Fundora by a unanimous decision.

Tonight in Canada, Kim Clavel will compete against Naomi Arellano Reyes for the unclaimed title of WBC International light flyweight champion. In her most recent bout, which took place in January, Clavel competed for the WBA and WBC women’s light flyweight belts. However, she was unable to defeat Yesica Nery Plata.

Kim Clavel vs Naomi Reyes Fight Preview

The fight between Naomi “La Chapita” Arellano Reyez (9-2-0, 5 KOs) of Los Angeles and Quebecer Kim Clavel, who has a record of 16-0-1 with 3 knockouts each, has been rescheduled for Friday, May 12 at Place Bell in Laval. Clavel, who hails from Quebec, has a perfect record.

GYM President Yvon Michel provided the following explanation: “It was difficult to keep the scheduled date of April 28 due to the participation of the Laval Rocket in the playoffs, which took place at Place Bell.” This is the reason why we have decided to push back this significant boxing card by 15 days, to Friday, May 12; this date is free, and there is no chance that it will interfere with any other events.

The validity of any and all tickets purchased for the 28th of April will extend to the 12th of May.

This will be the first fight for Clavel, who is 32 years old, since her bout on January 13 against Yesica Nery Plata, who is the WBA champion and has a record of 29-2-0 with three knockouts. The Quebecer was defeated by Plata by unanimous decision, and as a result, she was stripped of her WBC world championship.

The 12th of May will signal the beginning of a new run for Clavel, who plans to demonstrate her worth once more, situate herself, and earn a rematch with Plata as quickly as possible. This run will begin on May 12.

Clavel is presently ranked first by the WBC, second by the IBF, and first by the WBO.

Clavel, who was 32 at the time, defeated reigning champion Yesenia Gomez, who had a record of 19-5-3, in a 10-round unanimous decision at the Casino de Montreal on July 29, 2022. This victory earned Clavel the WBC title.
